Here's some sketches, two of them, the ones who have feet, show pretty well why I need more practice in that area. They're both wonky as hell. Kinda works for the monster dude, but that's just a lame excuse really lol

Long time and no see from me. Now it's art school and progress is happening. Will try to keep this place updated once again. If I have the energy to scan pics and do more digital work.

On my way doing about 1k gestures, trying to focus on the expression of the pose, rather than get caught up in detail. About 10-15 seconds spent per pose. (trying to do them in one stroke sometimes, hard as a golem's arse)
Oh, and here's some digital painting stuff as well. Enjoy!

More gestures and a quick study of a Jaime Jones piece. I wanted to capture the feel of the warms and cools like he did so well in that piece.
I should really focus on drawing, but it's nice to switch it up and do a few painting as well xD

All of your studies are coming along nicely and your digital colors are great A bit of advice, I think you need to work some on constructing the head from different angles, they are bit off, I think mostly with the angel guy. Drawing the loomis-like guides first always helps Good luck!

@ amemoryinblue: Thanks for the comment and advice there You're very right. I especially thought about this today while I was drawing people on the train. As I looked and compared my drawing to the real head of some bald dude, it was painfully obvious how much was off.

Headstudies, and other studies will come. But for now here's more gestures and scanned stuff xD

The journey towards 1k fast gestures continue. Also the scanner wanted to accept my coal drawings. So here they are as well.
Really loved working with coal. Feels like it was something I needed to help me loosen up when I draw, instead of getting bogged down with details before I've even drawn the feet and so on xD

Will definitely do more studies (especially anatomy and composition/perspective)) But I find that it's nice to draw much from mind in between studies (also gestures, to loosen up and warm up) Don't want catch get that "study sickness" that's been going around ;D

@Phoenicorn: Don't mind at all ;D And a nice obvservation of my current level of progress too. I have drawn witch pencils for a while, but haven't been doing so much digital painting. Well, the study goes on!

So here's my first attempt at traditional painting. Did a study of Anders Zorn's Knitting maid piece. Even tho I didn't get to spend so much time with it, I felt like it was a great practice over all. Gotta do more of these, building up painting confidence and knowledge and realising that I don't have to try to paint "fast" just because I can (so easy to do that digital compared to traditional)
Now I actually HAVE to think before placing a stroke ;P

Also, more gesture things from school. Drawing with a live model.

Glad you like the blog post. I love your traditional stuffs and the practice you put in to your pencil works really shows. Keep up the digital work. Maybe practice some value studies. I will be keeping my eye on you muhahaha.
