hey guys saw this thread and think it is a great idea and makes me happy to see people willing to help fellow artists cause it seems you dont get to see that very often some places anymore, but if anyone could give me some help with this picture, its for this weeks chow, the idea is she is a top student in necromancy student at a school for dark arts, i wanted to go for like a goth school girl type of look and have her like a cheery kind of teenager girl, and was going for some kind of over view while she is sitting Indian style. But its not finished and its driving me crazy so id see what kind of feed back i could get here.

I'm really sorry guys, I do these on my lunch hour so I set a 10 minute painting limit and a 5 minute writing limit- If they are too blunt I apologzie- if you have more questions I can answer them tonight either in this thread or PM.
I hope they help you guys! (btw Capslock isn't anger- it's a reminder!) also, just want to say again- these are personal suggestions, it's up to you to interpret the image with your own style! All of my paintovers will have this fuzzy, dramatic lighting- it isn't always correct, and wont fit every style you guys will do, so make sure if you aren't getting what you want out of the image, keep searching for the answers Good luck!Last edited by Juto; 06-29-2010 at 07:37 PM. |

This thread is awesome and I joined this community because of it.
I was hoping I could get some help here. I'm trying to make a strong composition first of all. Secondly I feel like my values could be pushed more. This is an early sketch for a portfolio piece I hope to complete. Thanks for any help! ![]() |

hearing this really is powerful for me. Especially given how few posts are in here, it's extremely exciting that the community can have that draw to people. I hope the more who interact with this thread and the other activities around cghub, the more will come. Here's my paintover- as usual, if you have any questions that are unanswered, please feel free to message me- also, apologies if it comes off blunt or rude, I try to do these pretty quick because spending too much time can be counterproductive unfortunately. I hope it helps you out Thanks again for joining the Hub! It's great to have you.HAHA OOPS!! TYPO IN THE TEXT ;_; THAT'S EMBARASSING. editting right now. edit 2: fixed it... I hope... edit3: nope.. I'm tired, I apolgize for the atrocious grammar... end of the work day @_@ edit 4: Just wanted to suggest another way you could make a vertical compo- I opened up the top bigtime. You could also narrow in on the characters and make them almost full canvas- I just have a thing for enviros so it was instinct but it'll be less work for you if you just eliminate the empty space on the sides by cropping inwards.Last edited by Juto; 06-30-2010 at 03:44 AM. |
