    Smile Bammes Books

Hi, does anyone own a copy of Die Gestalt Des Menschen? If so, how does it compare to his other books? I just downloaded Der Nackte Mensche and Wir Zeichnen Den Menschen, but so far, there haven't been as many cool illustrations as I'd hoped for (Der Nackte Mensche is mostly text, photos of naked people and motion diagrams; Wir Zeichnen is mostly student work, by the looks of it).

Also, just throwing this out there, but does anyone recommend copying some of his drawings to learn about structural anatomy? I've heard that's the best way to learn while using Bridgman, but I really can't stand his drawings.

    Thanks!

I own a copy of "Gestalt des Menschen". The pictures are mostly student work (but freaking nicely done one) couple of foto refernces and some of his own drawings. But Bammes is an anatomy book that you have to read to understand. Don't think copying pictures alone will get you there.

I'm not so sure. Nearly everyone I've seen recommend the book has said that it really doesn't matter if you can't understand the language (as long as you have some prior knowledge of anatomy). In fact, last year I had an instructor who actually does speak German, but said that he learned more just by studying the illustrations, and that the text tends to ramble off-topic.

        But thanks!
