    Default Tides Of War




    Candy Lab recently completed the cover for the upcoming video game 'Tides Of War' (aka The Killing Tide) from 505Games.

    Modelling and texturing by James Bowron, Fabrizio Fioretti, Michael Strathearn, David Richardson and Alix Miller using Maya.

    Base sea mesh sculpted by Mathew Cooling in zBrush.

    Explosions and muzzle blasts were created by Ashley Retallack using nParticles.

    Environment creation, lighting and rendering by James Bowron using Mental Ray.

    Retouching by John Fox and Michael Strathearn.

      Some info on how the sea was created:
      The foreground sea started as an exported mesh from Houdini Ocean Tools for Maya. (More info and a download here.)
      zBrush was used to add in the wake and the splashes coming up the sides of the sub and boat.
      This mesh was combined with Maya's Ocean shaders to displace the mesh further. The background sea was just Maya Ocean.
