Brilliant concept Evolvyn! I think the thing that stands out the most at the moment to me is the values - you may already be aware of the generally darker values when the environment is closer. Are the characters in the foreground looking over a giant vista of desert or are they right in front of them? If they're looking out at a distant view, it'd be a great way to reinforce how epic the sheer scale of the scene is. James Paick has countless examples of how atmosphere really kicks in over long distances, such as this piece. The gradually smaller characters support the idea of distance, as well as more contrast in closer areas and less in further ones. Looking at your piece, there's some very dark values on the sculpts sticking out of the ground - you could maybe dial them down to a more moderate value and bump up the darks in the foreground. Not sure if this will help, but I can't wait to see any more progress!
