This is getting really cool. Forget that it's iron man, it's just interesting to look at. From far away you notice the clean metallic modeling, and then when you get closer, you start to see the organic stuff, and observe the likeness. Nice work.
So, right now, it's a great portrait, I wonder if there are things you can do to help it read in 360 degrees like you would try to in a physical bust. Right now, I imagine the back of the head might be a little boring compared to the front. Can you do any tilting or turning of the head and neck to add a little tension? An example of what I mean can be found here (artist Jose Fernandez): http://www.joseismael.com/images/michael_alt2_large.jpg So the above could be sculpted looking straight forward, but the tilt to the spine forward, and twist of the neck to the subject's left seem to add a little tension and push your eye around the piece to the right. Just a suggestion, and the model is looking GREAT! |
