Can't wait to see what you've got cooking! Post some ref pics so we can see what you're going for. Also, post some base mesh pics when you're feeling good about it.

thanks. i understand its hard to imagine what the bust should look like without some reference images.
first its the conan. i use about 50 pictures of swarzenegger from my earlyer project. heres the main picture i'm following. i'll add a base mesh and a fast sculpt with few words on the process of making later today.

wanted to do a photo real caracter but it's just not my style . so i came up with a stylized version of conan .
so here is a concept i will follow. C&C are welcome.

I like stylized things and your sketch is pretty cool. I`m looking forward to seeing the first 3D update. Good luck!

good start and cool sketch. just wondering here. What if you started with no topo (a la zspheres or divided boxes etc) and sculpted the shapes instead of modeling loops. I personally find when trying to mush things around for a caricature, i like the freedom of no loops in my base sculpt. Something like the nasil-labial fold or lip loops could get in the way sometimes if I wanted to make the moth wider etc. so I tend to save them for last (retopo). Just a suggestion, feel free to disregard.

Also, not sure if you're going for an Arnold likeness, but I dug up these images in case you are. Maybe looking at commonalities i what various artists have chosen to accentuate in their caricatures might lead you to have even more good ideas.

thanks. glad you like it. no disregards. i agrea wit you that it is a lot easyer and more fun to just sculpt from a very basic geometry shapes. i usualy sculpt from a box or sphere and then retopologyse, but i wanted to aproach this chalange using more time on modeling (jus for practise), to warm up and try to regain my rusty modeling skils. but i think i'll acsept your advise and sculpt from a box or something just for fun - what these chalanges are all about.
no, i dont go for a arnold likenes. i wanted to do a photoreal caracter and was half way there but changed my mind. now its just a realy tuff guy with a tuff guy jaw. tuff guy expresion and a tuff guy long hair-doo. my main goal is to make it as much hero-like character as i can. thanks for reference pictures. its sad thart only two opened but they are good images. thanks

looking good dude. I was thinking, its a stylistic thing, but maybe you could start putting some sharp edges in place like around his jaw or on the bridge of his nose or cheek bones. I kind of get that impression from your drawing. Also that fatty area around the mouth looks a bit weird. it isn't transitioning well with the rest of the face.
