    Default Community building brainstorm thread!

We are looking for ways to boost the community atmosphere in 2010 and help get people interacting, talking, and building relationships (friendships, work relationships, and ...more?!)

If you have ideas for fun community activities that you'd like to see here on the Hub, please use this thread to let us know!

    Hi,

I would love to see a social aspect to CGHub with some regional meets/discussions/events. eg. UK & Europe, Asia, , Asia pacific, Scandanavia, etc.

For example, in London we often have various sporadic meetings of fellow artists who attend life drawing, sketching at the local museums, days out, etc.

So, perhaps a specialised development of the forum to allow for an events organization aspect, thus allowing local artists to arrange/meet/greet for local artistic/creative events would be supe!!

I agree with Koshime and want to expand on it.

What about some sort of shared calendar where workshops, releases, etc, are announced. Like employers could post deadlines for job applications, etc. I just think it'd be easier to see in calendar format than in forum threads.

So far there doesn't seem to be much action in the Paid jobs section, I know it's not something you have much control over but I'm going to try and drum up business with the indie game devs I know. I'd like to extend the request to all others who know potential employers to make them aware of this site!

Maybe have a section where people can ask specific questions about the business side of art.

Which leads me to my next suggestion: some sort of mentor program or the possibility for people to be linked by mentorship or something.

Or a way how people could flag themselves as accepting questions about a topic that they are particularly knowledgeable about.

And while the possibility to thank a post is nice, I'm also on a community (nothing to do with art) where you can flag a post:"Educative, interesting, agree, disagree, funny, love" which is quite nice (we're also lobbying for a "wtf" flag because there's weird stuff out there.)

Koshime is quite right the sketch meets tend to be quite fun, and great for networking, learnt some nice things from Koshime last time I saw him.

Otherwise, im not 100% of much any ways.

I think we should expand our northern new hampshire group so that I'm not so alone D:.

But really, sketchgroups are awesome! I always get so energized to come up with ideas mmm.

We'll have to invite ya for some of our Legendary London Nando sketch sessions. Grilled chicken + art + sketching... heheh (been running it for the past 6 years now)
