Hey everyone,

I did this for my BG painting class and I'm looking for a critique. I got one from my prof but id like to hear what the community has to say about it. Any comments are appreciated...

I think the colours and mood are great.

The little detailing and attention you paid to the ship and clouds nearby are very nice. But I feel the fog(?) you tried painting in near the front is a little too sloppy. The details of the trees and the ferns on them too. More photographic references would probably have helped.

Towards the right hand side the details in the trees remained the same as the rest of the image, but from the more outlined look of the grass they should be less so detailed and somewhat washed out too, right now they stick out oddly where it fees like they aren't supposed to. It should also be darker here being in the shade out of light.

Just my two cents, don't beat yourself over it. Overall you've got the mood and everything nailed down, I think it's good.
