hey guys, I'm not sure about what to use. I need a software that makes basic model that I can detail and stuff with effects and everything. for example like something i could make a chair with a rough 3d sculpt, and then detail it putting the texture of it and stuff. Something really basic

The easiest software to use would be Cinema 4d. The pro's use 3D Studio Max or Maya. But Cinema 4d is like the basic version of these minus the animation time line at the bottom.

Try Google Sketchup. One of the tutorials is even for a chair the last I knew. http://sketchup.google.com/

Its basic, free, and easy to learn.

Try sculptris.

It is a small sculpting and texturing software. It is really simple and nice. Hope that helps...
