This is my N7 soldier. I wanted him to look like a soldier hence the muted colours. Not sure why a soldier would wear bright colours, but guess it looks pretty! Also I liked the idea of having his armor practical and not too bulky so he can actually move in it. The helmet visor is glossy to be a focal point as you can't see his eyes. I spent a lot of time working on the textures and shaders to give them all a unique feel and help contrast the different materials.
For reference I used Shepard from the Mass Effect 3 cinematic by Digic Pictures. I also used a lot of future soldiers for referencing the overall look. This character is designed for cinematic use and rendered in 3D Max, Vray. Beauty shot textures and materials Clay render, displacement and normal maps

Hi, my name is Zack, I'm 16 and i have only been 3D modelling for a couple of months now.
It was great fun participating in this competition and i have learnt allot of new skills. This is the first character i have ever made so i put all i had into it. I don't know how to go about making a character so i kind of just made my own method up as i went along (probably not a very good one). I'm happy i reached the deadline and had a finished entry for the competition. I have written some lore for my character on my thread http://cghub.com/forum/showthread.ph...100#post162432Thank you BioWare for hosting this, Kind regards, Zack ![]() PS. i still don't have a clue on how to make my images big, so i just put them as thumbnails ![]() Last edited by Superliminal; 02-01-2013 at 06:45 AM. |
