Tae Kwon Do, and I run with my sister's dog (I steal her dog, since my cat refuses to run with me ). I'm thinking about getting roller blades and skate with the dog.

I've been loosing focus these last few weeks in my work and I do believe it is because I haven't done any discernible exercise for a while. Because regular, mild exercise is better than hard, sporadic bursts, I know I would feel the benefits if I go out 3 times a week starting tomorrow morning.

What I can see here and attest to, is that exercise does a lot of things beyond the obvious. First, it has been proven that exercise can help with mild depression and ease the affects of more serious cases.

It sharpens the mind and helps focus for sure and I believe this could be something to do with our ancestral evolutionary heritage where hunting was a regular activity and the exercise helped sharpen the caveman's senses (of course, this is just a theory of mine).

Since it does sharpen our focus and, since many of us don't need to go hunting for out food, our focus turns to things we love doing and can get on and do them.

Since I am the only one in this thread who has said that I used to do more active things now I don't... I really need to get off of my growing girth and get moving, even if its just a really long walk. No excuses right?

And I'm all about the motivational stuff. Tomorrow I am going to go out and do a long walk before I start my work, regardless of the weather. If anyone reading this isn't an athlete or doesn't exercise like fattening me, then lets get moving and be like the other artists in this thread who do still exercise!

I do Kung fu - its friggin hard work, but worth it! If I didn't do it I'd revert back to my lunch-box/who-ate-all-the-pies status...

I go to work and everywhere in the city on foot. I do pushups, crunches or other strength exercises 3 times a week. Also swimming pool once a week and airsoft once or twice a month.
