Default Working om VFX, need some advice and tips

Hello, i have decide it to go animation school for 3 years. I found that it's damn hard to learn a lone without any guidance. I learn better when someone show me in first place than lurking on internet.

Mu goal is to be character artist, and make realistic creature like those from movies. The problem is i have no idea what to go for, everything is interest for me, but not programming/scripting i leave that for brainy dudes.

So, working on VFX, i have read it's fantastic to work, but, i have read really bad negative things for it, mostly about moving across globe to work.

I have seen on people resumes, that their work on studios no more than 6 months or 1 year.

So, why does VFX studios don't give permanent job for vfx artist? It is hard to get perm job?

But also, i have seen people work on same studios for years. Tried to ask them, but i haven't god any response
