The Triclops lives in a vast desert; almost entirely barren, the only signs of life either being the Triclops herds themselves, the beasts that hunt them, and the sparse patches of vegetation.

It has evolved an interesting way to interpret wavelengths using it's unusual number of eyes. The one at the front of it's skull views in ultraviolet, making vegetation stand out amongst the arid desert, whilst the two at the side keep a constant vigil for predators. Should one be spotted their antennae glow in a spectrum invisible to the majority of their predators, warning the rest of the herd.

Cool round this time guys! Expected a few more entries with this kind of topic, but I guess with the holidays and the end of the world and everything I guess it's no surprise.

Here's some crits that I've written up quickly...

pr0t3r-not much more to add that I haven't already stated in the wips thread, although I think some anatomical corrections could be made mainly on it's forelimbs

mayanew-this design seems rather safe to me, I would've liked to see a bit more exploration of design and added features that make the creature more unique rather than a 'quadruped' with 'two smaller arms for handling food' and 'three eyes' also the composition needs a bit more dynamicism, everything is very up and down, with a little depth, but not too much, there isn't any real separation between foreground and mid-ground. I'd recommend researching certain animals as well as their anatomy and look at certain characterisitics that sets them apart from other animals, this should make your design more interesting, and try doing some simple small compositional thumbnails focusung on foreground, midgraound and background elements; a general 'rule of thumb' (no pun intended) is the further into space things go the less value and contrast they have.

proskurinartwork-this is a pretty interesting looking guy, I like those little purple feathers hanging from it's arms, it makes me wonder what the rest of him looks like. The pose leaves a lot to be desired for the design. Also I think you could've made things a bit easier for yourself if you crop the sides of te image, on the left and right there isn't a whole lot going on so there isn't really a need for all that grass, or you could add a few other elements, different plants, mushrooms, perhaps some more creatures on the sides to make it look more interesting, rather than using all that space to frame your one critter.

MiAaa-These are very interesting looking creature, they have a pretty neat looking design, makes them seem like believable creatures. One very obvious issue I have are the trees in the midground, flat, black, mainly created with the photoshop default leaf brush. There's nothing wrong with using the ps leaf brushes so long as you don't just stop there. It is best to think of trees as having a 3 dimensional form, rather than flat silhouettes. This flattens the image and makes it look like your creatures are sitting on a branch in front of a painted backdrop rather than an actual environment.

Irongollem- charming yet simple design, personally I liked how the eyes looked in from the wips with less dilated pupils. This could use a bit of a boost in contrast, when you blur the eye the creature sort of dissapears into the background.

Tchuck-To me this is one of the best designs this round, what I recommend with your rendering is to try to eliminate the need of your linework to suggest the creature's form, for example the creature's tail wouldn't read as well if you removed the linework. But as I stated in the wips thread, perhaps a little more time dedicated to rendering could help. Cuz this still looks quite roughly indicated. I voted for you cuz I really liked your design.

Jibro-Some nice rendering here, the same attention could've been used on the background though. this guy actually reminds me a bit of Gollum, he has that creepiness to him. My biggest issue is that the face seems a bit to human-like, perhaps giving it some more cat-like proportions maybe.

SuperJMan-There is a lot of blue and purple here! I feel like the mouth doesn't quite match up with the rest of the creature, it is very insect-like while everything else is very mammalian, try to incorporate more insectoidal elements into the rest of your design so there is more cohesion and so it doesn't look like a last minute change that was added.

andrea_susini-Very cool design, dude! One thing I'm a little confused about, is it floating in the air or swimming? If it's floating it should have more of a bloated look, like with some air sacs or something to keep it airbourne, if underwater there should be some kind of inidaction from it's environment, bubbles, fish, etc. Nothing much else to add to this however, very strong design and exceptional rendering. Got my vote this time around.
