It's a colony of molluscs simulating an individual. Maybe like a parasite that eats organics and morphs/mimics into the parts it eats away, eventually overtaking the host.

That morph is really cool. Its amazing that he can actually shape shift into other aliens. How will you approach his armor?

Inspired by the mimic octopus, so the armour is just cosmetic.
These mollusc things would probably have to rely on biotics for protection, kind of like how Jack manages to survive fights without a shirt.

learned how to morph materials in UDK, tested a turian face;

WOW this is stellar! The idea is the best one I've came about and looks very much like a Mass Effect character that adds to the discussion of the game. Please keep this up.
