Default Drawing others artists' art for practice

Hello, I'm new to the site, but I've been lurking long enough to know I love this site . I have a question for the CGHub community though and figured I could adress it here.

Do you believe drawing other artists' work, only for the sake of practice, is plagiarism? What if it is posted online in a sketchbook thread (original artist credited and linked to as well)? Would it make a difference if the original artists' medium is different than pencil, for example a digital sculpture?

In my opinion, it feels as though it is a great form of practice, especially if you're drawing work that inspires you already and you are NOT using it for any other purpose than practice and studies. At the same time, if it were posted online under your thread, it feels like it would be crossing the line.

Let me know your opinions and why. Sorry if this is a longer than normal post.

I don't see a problem if you specifically state that X study is from Y artists piece.

I think it is not plagiarism if you won't use them for commercial purpose.

Maybe you can statement where is your inspiration come from, tell others that this is not your original work.
And,a digital sculpture is different then a pencil one.

Copying the work of "master artists" used to be a very standard part of artist training back in the day and I see no reason why it should serve as a less useful learning tool now Like has already been mentioned, explain your copy is not an original and give credit if possible, and don't use the art piece for commercial gains.
