here is my take for this topic..
This Cancri Tank is very slow and bulky (a mix between an elephant and a turtle), made of a very resistant material (still unidentified, has both mineral and organic properties), embedded with crystal growth on the exoskeleton. It feeds itself in a particular way: the tentacles excrete some kind of sulfus-like material that melts because of high temperature, and will become a sticky and acid mucus that erode nutritional substances from the rocks and soil. Also keeps some types of predators away. He's blind but can navigate thanks to the sensorial antennae on his tentacles, which work like a sonar.

anatomical/diagrammatical illustration of the Cancri Tank. Completely blind the creature relies on scent and infrasound. females are exceptionally larger than males and are shelled. Males become permanent and sole residents of their female. Parasitic to the female he will live in her birthing chamber, feeding on bacteria, parasites and her blood.

Hi there!
Here there is my work.
The main idea is to represent an huge creature roaming all over the desolate crust of the planet, harvesting dust and debris with the big aperture over the front. It feeds on instable chemical compounds founded on space dust. The reactions of its metabolism are harsh and a lot of heat and radiation are released from its carapace.
Al the sensory organs are situate on the small head in the front.

Hey everyone,

so i gave this thing some though. The planet is very hot, so whatever lives on there has to have a high resistance against that. On my Cancri-Tank, the solution for that is kind of a Symbiosis of heat-absorbant bacteria with a host. They turn the heat surrounding the tank into energy. A little bit like the Pompeii Worm.

This was my first challenge and i loved it.

In the blinding light of the nearby star, the cancri tank slowly roams the diamond desert using its piezoelectric crystals to search for small creatures to feed on.

The Cancri Tank uses hyper-reactive crystal membranes to seek out vibrations of the air. These Baleen-like protrusions serve as the main sensory attribute. Excess heat from exertion is vented through the shell orifices. (you don't want to be in the elevator with this guy when he does that).

Side note: If you ever have to fight this beast, get on top of it and throw a grenade down one of the holes.
