    Talking BioWare CGHUB 2012 3D Challenge - "Dragon Age" - reyrivera3d

    Hi

I'm still fleshing out my idea, but I plan on making a qunari of some sort.

I'll post my inspiration images and all of that later; I just wanted to post what I've got so far!

I used Nick Z's male basemesh as a starting point and I used tubes for his horns.

          Thumbs up Update

Hi all. As promised, here are most of my inspirations.

Here is "my" concept. I say "my" because I took a bunch of bioware's concepts and collaged them and painted over them a bit, so I can't take too much credit for it.

I don't know what I'm going to do with the hair yet.

I may give him a necklace of some sort as well, but I don't know.

I also don't know whether to give him two different shoulder armors or just one, so that is why I posted both of them.

Here is my progress on the face. I intend on shrinking the horns.

Here is my progress on the armor.

Let me know what you think! Thanks!

            great start
I think that patterns on shoulder armor should have more volume, to be thicker, especially if you plan to bake it to normal map.

Thanks for stopping by! I loved your Hit-Girl from the Comicon Challenge.

When you say more volume, do you mean the bands should be wider or they should pop out more?

I think pop out more. I like to check my models by zooming out to the point where my model is actual final size on the screen. All details should be visible clearly and light emphasizes the form

Thanks LilithTD for the suggestion to thicken the straps. They really do look better now as you can see.

Here's more armor updates. I hope to block out more armor pieces soon, but right now I am finishing up the straps to what I've got!

I wanted to have some asymmetry so I am making one of his shoulders different. What do you guys think about it? Does it look strange? Should he be symmetrical? Should he have only one shoulder? Should I finish the straps on it so that you can see it better?

Let me know what you guys think!
