    Default Spyguy-WIP Crit Needed/Appreciated

    Hi:
I consider myself a beginner with digital painting and I'm hoping to get some critiques on this sketch. What sticks out the most to me is my blending still needs more work. The technique I'm using thanks to others in this forum is using the eyedropper tool while my brush is at a low opacity/flow. I'd say as far as the skin, I'm close to half done.

Any critiques given is highly appreciated. The model is from a reference photo by DrunkHobo_Stock.

Hello, Chauncey. I think you should focus on 2 things: Find your light source and establish a background. If you're not planning on having a background, then the light source is easier to fudge but right now you've got a lot of great details but no apparent light source other than possibly those street lights in his sunglasses, in which case the lighting being cast on him at the moment is quite too bright.... or, rather, it's too ambient. Would expect a ton of contrast and darks if this is at night.

Anyway, I like his outfit. Classy! But not the look he's givin me. He's super creepy like one of those Matrix dudes. In a good way.

I agree with geckzilla! once you find a light source you'll most likely be able to cover more area than you have. which I'm curious now on how this has progressed? can't wait to see the detail because if you stick with the drawing it should come out quite nice!
