    Default Drawing Adventures of UUUinfinity

Please note: I've decided that all my sketches, studies and journals will be on my blog: blog.leonieyue.com instead so I have more time to learn and actually comment on other people's threads instead of stretching myself thin and posting my work everywhere. I may post selective works and projects I want further feedback on here but at this stage it won't be anytime soon.
I welcome feedback to my blog here however!
    Thanks for coming by! (:

    **************** ORIGINAL POST

Am looking for constructive critique and feedback while I post my journey in developing my skills! I shall post things I do within this sketchbook thread.
Thanks for taking the time to look & give any feedback for improvement! (:

This is my latest character concept art I've done:

See here for more details about this character: http://uuuinfinity.blogspot.com.au/s...gon%20guardian

Looking forward to get to know you!

Let me know if you'd like me to give constructive feedback (not just a few words) in return for your constructive feedback, happy to do the same (:
    Still, I'm just a newbie!

Default My first Life Drawing session 19th Oct 2012

Charcoal fun! The proportions are out of whack...being a short midget with a very tall easel is something I'd need to contend with better next time.

There's more from this session in my art blog, but I've picked out the ones I like better here.

        Thanks for looking (:
Welcome and eager for feedback and crits! And even new feedback friends!

More commentary/thoughts on my main blog if you're interested as I'm just going to dump art without too much description here.

        Until next time, keep rolling!

Default Nomad Panda - Base Character Concept Art

Hullo! First I'll post up what I've done and then the Nomad Panda concept, as that is what I'm working on at the moment.

            Wastelander-esque Panda

I was working on a Character for a team of game programmers. It's their student game project and they wanted a "Wastelander Panda" webseries sort of Panda character with a Fallout 3 vibe to it. He also carries trash around. Their game is a puzzle 2D platformer, so I was to make a spritesheet for them asap.

These are my rough sketches/thumbnails to get an idea of the Panda they're looking for.

Took me much longer than I would have thought but I am finally (hopefully) done with the sprite sheet for their game. Took me over a day to figure stuff out, animating it to see how it looks and rendering via pixels. It's tiny compared to the concept art as each frame is 42x42.

Will need to find out who is their background artist so I can get some backdrop to my panda here.

            My Nomad Panda Project
I made some sketches full of Panda studies posted over at my blog, but I'm too embarrassed to post them here. But after some practice, I got my concept art of just the Panda character by itself (I haven't designed the accessories yet, so WIP still!)

I did some colour hue changing tests (that I've posted at my blog only) but I'm sticking to these original colours of blacks, whites, oranges and blues for my project.

Phew! 3D side of things for this panda is currently in progress.
I will probably post this in my 3D sketchbook thread (:

            Feedback and constructive critique appreciated!

Love it every time i see someone do skeletal studies! Those train sketches are nice too. Like the Panda but i have an issue with the posture a bit...looks likes its squatting to me, which makes the pose a little weak, but you got it right on a couple of them.

I couldn't resist sketching a few samples, was doing it for myself, but thought i'd share it with you if you don't mind. Also wanted to show you how you can loosen up you lines a little to make your sketches more fluid. Mentioned a couple of points for character sketches you may also want to look up online.

I've never really drawn a panda either but the sketches on your blog are quite nice for someone doing it for the first time!

Over all nice work, Keep it coming

Hi Mashach, thanks so much for looking and the kind feedback (my first feedback here, at that)!
You have enlightened me about the pose! I shall have to straighten out my panda's legs and experiment more with the pose then! (:

Of course I don't mind, it really helps and reminds me of the things I've overlooked! Thanks for the sample sketches and for taking a look at my blog!

I guess I shall redo the concept art again when I find the time, thanks so much for pointing it out.
Shall head over to your sketchbook now; you're my first feedback buddy at cghub now (:

Nice! A lot of creativity here, I love your characters! And all the traditional studies are coming along nicely too. A bit o advice on the faces, keep the chins a little more back, as in - a bit back into the face Good luck on your projects!

Nice work! I especially love your pandas, they've got so much character. Would be cool to see some colour in your anatomy/sketchbook stuff. Keep up the good work!
