ALLRIGHT PEEPS.... IT HAS BEEN DONE.... I could not stop myself for giving this a round!
Pretty simple.... I would like to see some variety in here. Could be the entrance of the cave, the inside, the surroundings, interior, exterior... something related to your own vision of the BAT CAVE!
GO FORTH, CREATE AND CONQUER!!!

Here's sketch so far
i decided to make it in black and white and in 2.39:1 aspect ratio just to give it that cinematic feel.

@patrick - hey nice start... definitely a good call about the ratio.... make sure the columns further back are not as dark as the close ones to us so you push them back to create more depth! great stuff

@alex - hey i like u started subtle with the colors and forms... keep adding to it! cant wait for next step!

Heya guys, I'm new here. Signed up today, I love the idea of the challenges so I've dived right in . Any tips would be great! I'm having a bit of trouble with my computer screen I think, I couldn't see the contrast between the black and dark grey until I posted it here against the black background. Perhaps it's the light background of photoshop throwing me off? Is there anyway to change the colour of the background to something more neutral not so bright?

Another cool theme, I'm gonna have a go on this one!

Two quick sketches, one exterior and one interior, don't know which way to go yet, but I'll probably do a few more of these before I decide.
Crits and comments are much appreciated

          @ Patrick_P
Cool choice of ratio, definitely one I have to try sometime. Your sketch is a bit dark but that gives it a cool feeling! As JoseVega wrote, just make sure the contrast of the pillars corresponds to the distance from the camera Besides that, I'm really looking forward to the updates!

          @ AlexTLe
Its nice to see your process, and the idea is great! Looking forward for more! That pillar structure of yours, in my opinion, begs to dominate the picture a bit more. If you want my two cents I would probably try to take the camera angle a bit lower towards the road and thereby make the pillar seem taller. (hope it makes sense, and please do take my advice with a grain of salt, I don't want to mess up whats already good!)

          @ Papaya_Pig
Thats a beasty looking cave you've got! I hope you keep some of the texture in there during your detailing
About your photoshop trouble, I don't know of a way to personally change the background color to a chosen color. However, (this works on my pc (mac)) when painting in photoshop, hitting the F key switches the background color between blue, grey and black. Hope it helps!

@andreas thank you. I decided to move it down and tilt the camera.
I also lik the 1st one alot, it really shows that theres something behind the waterfall, while the second one (which is good too) doesn't really look like a batcave, but more of a cool boss tower in a fantasy world.

@Papaya that looks really good! I think by putting a "base" in the back, because the challenge is to make the Batcave from Batman ( i think correct me if im wrong). I love the detail too.

@Patrik the pillars and the base are very detailed, just make sure it looks like a cave, which is also something im trying to work out.

Yeah that's the plan! Thanks for the feedback

@Patrik, I love the pillars! I think they make for a great composition

@Alex I really like the cave feel you have here, with the man made structure in the middle. It's a nice contrast.

@Andreas The second one is my favourite, I feel it suits the topic more and has a better composition!

I'm playing around with the idea of bottomless pits and bright lighting; thoughts?
