    Default solarSwift Spacecraft

    Hi everyone,

Getting back to this site after a long hiatus -- both imposed by life's quirky turns, and the delayed by my work for the Luxo Spaceship Asset Sharing Contest:

    snubNose Scout
    nickelNautilus

Some of you may have caught this new work below on the Luxology Forum. I'll post the WIP sequence, and catch up to the current state of the project quickly.

Starting a new model here -- wanted to get away from my 'NickelAge' style (late 1930's early 40's Deco/Diesel influenced alternate universe. Don't want to leave the impression that's all GroBoto is good for ('tho certainly a good fit as Deco & Diesel bot utilize a lot of basic geometric forms.)

This will hopefully be a sleeker, more modern aesthetic ('tho still, as always, striving for a unique style). I also hope to provide some more tips for the GroBoto-modo workflow. Things have changed & improved in recent months (both in GroBoto & the GroBoto-modo Toolkit -- new versions of both will be available early next week.

    Best Wishes,
    Darrel

      Hi everybody,

...Again, just catching up on this project (original WIP Thread started elsewhere). a few more posts, and we'll be up to speed here.

Some additions and tweaks to the GroBoto metaBooleans …probably about done -- want to keep this model simple. Focus is on metaBoolean techniques & how they setup the mesh for modo modeling & GroBoto-modo Toolkit play.

May or may not cut carve out an interior cavity & make a true glass canopy (with geometric thickness). Hard to resist now that I've said in …pretty easy with booleans.

Note that the WingTips have fairly high density -- however, they are small, and that density should allow for some very clean bevels/channels & such at the intersections.

      Best Wishes,
      Darrel

        Hi everybody,
A little bit of GroBoto work -- including Cockpit/Canopy/Seat stuff. Seat is very preliminary -- just wanted to toss something into the new, empty cockpit.

No modo modeling yet, but I think the main meshes are ready to go …looking forward to the modo phase -- lots to play with.

        Best Wishes,
        Darrel
