@white_raven
Thanks man! I really like your fly fish as well! Im sure youŽll get the hole virus thing covered as you go along with the detailing of the metallic parts of it! @eternalfiresong Hahah, great idea, looking forward to see more.! And I'm glad I'm not the only one going with a huge animal, its a bit tricky to make the flight of such animals plausible! Heres a quick update (the bottom one) I went away from the original design, I wanted to make it a little less solid and more organic.. This will probably be the way I take it since I won't have time to work on it again before monday. C&C are more than welcome! |

You can go with an insect type creature. But this goes to everyone; don't just pick an animal we have on Earth, and slap some metal on it (whale/hippo )... this is an alien planet, so the "pre-metal virus" creature should be an original design as well. Also, the creature was capable of flight before the virus as well. Sorry if I wasn't clear enough in the original description :S

That makes things a bit more interesting....
My initial reaction was a mutated earth creature, and I thought, well that's boring...haha |

@ Chris-Chros: Yes! Great shape, I'm loving this. I think this could work better, if the wings were even smaller, and posed like they're really feeling the weight of the body. Awesome start.

Cool theme! I really like the extra, subtle restrictions on these. It really helps to try to narrow things down. I have some cool ideas I've started thumbnailing. Should have some wips up in a day or two!

Ah, I missed those key points as well, sorry! No hippos for this contest, got it.
![]() Sorry to see you leave, andreasbech! AlexTLe - I feeling the two on the right more, personally. htkpeh, I agree with Ori-G - I like the silhouette of the creature in the 4th, but I do like the colors in the last. Chris-Chros - I love this, really. Great alien insectoid thing. Machuna - Great start, it's got that whole dragonfly thing going on. The more colorized one on the left has a more organic feel to the thorax - is that the direction that you are going in? Well, I need to get my brain off of hippos and more original. I shall be back, I hope. This seems like a really nifty thread, especially now that I understand it better! |
