Default Odd Dual Screen Tablet Question

I have a Fujitsu Lifebook. I am looking to hook it up to another monitor. What I would like to do while painting on photoshop, is to have an overview of my current painting on the 2nd monitor and be able to work in detail on a zoomed in view on the tablet. Probably not possible and would take up too much RAM, but if anyone knows how please let me know.

      hey threecharles,

the answer to your question is fairly simple i guess, depending on what version of photoshop you use. if you have a cs version it's a piece of cake.
just open your navigator window, size it up a bit and put that window on your second screen. that way you always have an overview of your entire illustration, or whatever you are working on on your 2nd screen. i always work like that and it works really well!!
in your case, i don't know what kind of 2nd monitor you are looking for, or if you allready have one, but i'd say if that one has a higher resolution that the screen of your fujitsu lifebook, i'd most definately make the external monitor your primary screen and the screen on your laptop the secondary screen. that way you have a much bigger work area. just my two cents.

      good luck!

There is actually a special function in PS CS(4) that creates another window of the same artwork

have your work opened then go to
Window > Arange > New window for "..."

You can drag it anywhere you like, functions just like the any other opened work. You can work on both windows

Found this out by luck a while ago, someone mentioned it. Thought I should also pass it on.
I'm also a dual monitor user, so it was great when I found out it has been possible all that time
