An ongoing project for sharp talent: job is good for "extra cash" seekers as well as more central, full day roles. Flexible in schedule and deadline. Work is with artists and passionate storytellers, and not a corporate client.

We're looking for a variety of artists for a project that will be heavy on illustration, After Effects 2d animation, some 3d modeling and animating, and environments. This is not sci-fi or fantasy, but will have real human elements. This is also not motion graphics, so if that's all you have, please don't apply.

Artists who have good working knowledge of the interdisciplinary skills mentioned is a plus, but most important is to have a specific focus that you excel in.

And with portfolios, please don't be shy about what you send. We need to see a range of your styles and approaches to the mediums. This is storytelling through images, so keep that in mind.

Illustrators who have cinematic and painterly styles will be first choices for most involved work. Not interested in seeing another guy with a sword or a spaceship, so please send your best work, of course, but originality is distinction.

Sharpness, depth of field, brushstroke, proper use of contrast and believability are very important for illustrators. Overuse of flairs and color dodges is not desired. Looking for an understanding of cinematic language.

3d Artists should focus more on environment, set, and camera movement rather than character modeling. Your role will be more in set design and motion, not in character concept design.

Sketchup modelers are also welcome.

2D animators should be capable of using software to achieve expressive facial changes and motion of the human body. After Effects is preferred, TVPaint is great, and Vector based will likely not be used in the project, but it's fine for showing your animation ability. Rotoscope work is also fine.


Also, this is not a cartoon or anime style project, but will need some authenticity and originality in the look.

However, the ability to animate believable motion is important if you are showing your animation work, so if you only have cartoon style work, that is still fine.
