@ Amaakir - Ha ha, I would hope so with the current dog food we use. She's like Jared of Subway, poor thing has gone through so many weight fluctuation that finally she got to a normal weight after we settled with the dog food we are using now.

Anyways, great stuff everyone! I love your studies of your dog eternalfiresong! Those are great!

More progress on my dog, I am going to start working on the skeleton soon.

One more update from me today! I took some awesome advice in my sketchbook from Zentrope suggesting that I do an action pose, so I did. The running part is actually challenging, because I don't have a direct reference to work from. I am just using my studies from before and some references of dogs running to put it together.

Those are some nice colors, TwoDD. And I love the running pose. I'm torn between an action pose and the one I'm posting here, of her sleeping. Both are fun.

In any case, I did some sketching on a pose of my pup sleeping away. I'm feeling more comfortable with canine skulls now, thank goodness. I still hate ribs and vertebrae.

Aaaaand, photoshop crashed in the middle of this and I lost all of my musculature. So, I sketched it back quickly, but I'm pretty ready to move on now, so it isn't nearly as nice as it was. Oh well.

A quick colorization of a skull, and I think I'm ready to move on to the actual pose. I would love your thoughts.

Here is my 50 cents. I'm afraid of bull terriers but sometimes they look realy good.

@TwoDD: Gorgeous renders on your beautiful dog! I love them, the action pose is excellent! It'd be interesting to see the skeleton or muscle study done on the action pose

@Eternalfiresong: I love your skeleton and muscle studies, you've certainly done your homework! I'm looking forward to seeing your final image!

@SevnthFloorArt: Awesome! I love the traditional hunting pose you chose to work on! The render's coming nicely, great job!

@aibolit: Nice work on the values, I'd avoid using black tho and making it a little bit lighter...also, is that a star tattoo or something on the torso? XD

@alola: Great studies, the walking pose you used to study the skeleton is great, you should take that one and work your final image from it!

Awesome work, guys, we still got a few days to go! I suddenly became busy with exams and a lot of work, so I'll have to hop on to the next challenge :P But I'll be rooting for all of you!

Doesn't look like I'm going to be able to finish mine in time D: But everyone else's looks great; I can't wait to see them all finished. Keep up the good work!

@ Ammakir - Done and done, I went overboard this time but I have been really trying to study mammal anatomy lately so this challenge was more than useful.

@ aibolit - Ah I absolutely love bull terriers, they are a bunch of clowns. If I ever want a pure bred dog the bull terrier would be my first choice, second would be the corgi. :P You have lovely line work and values going so far, I can't wait to see it finished.

@ alola - Love your line work, I take it that you are doing the Great Dane? I look forward to seeing your entry finished!

@ dierat - Keep trying to finish dierat! Even if you don't finish in time the knowledge you gain from your studies will be invaluable.

Alright, I think I finished my entry for this challenge. I know I was posting progress pictures but I kind of got carried away and forgot to take further snapshots. Sorry about that.

Anyways, here are my references that I used for pretty much everything. If anybody has some suggestions or critiques for my entry please let me know!

Thank you guys - Amaakir, TwoDD, so much for good response and anybody else who are looking at our pictures . I will make notice for myself to not draw with pure black in the future and... yes, stars are kind of tattoo just for fun

Yay! I was just coming to say that it was too bad that I had only an hour or two to work on my 'final' dog, as I have to leave now. But now I'll have time tonight to hopefully finish her up. So, here is a WIP post rather than a "So sorry, here is my unfinished final" post. Thanks Amaakir!

After talking with Amaakir, and finding out I needed all four legs showing, I chose this running pose from my sketches to illustrate. If I have time tonight, I'll do another muscle study for this one too, but first priority is to get the actual finished dog done. Heh.

@ TwoDD - I love the colors on your dog! Great work, and the anatomy studies are great. I love how you left the skin on the eyes, muzzle, and ears - it works fantastically.

@ aibolit - great lines. I hope you have a chance to put your finished color piece up. That dog has some pretty awesome musculature.

@ SeventhFloorArt - Great pointing pose. The play of the color on the different color fur is fantastic.

@ alola - keep going! I would love to see this taken to the next level.

So, here are three of the snap shots I took while working this morning. Hopefully, I'll have another post tonight with a more complete work!

Continuing her shading, still with wonky eyes
