I was doing too much perspective study on architecture so I though I should try something else.
I did a study from a photo of a vending machine and then tried to do it in a different perspective with more distorted proportions. I will do this more in the future because it's a lot of fun (but plan ahead the distorted part because right now it looks strange - maybe some doodles might help - I didn't doodle yet, ever).

Less time today. I played a little with perspective before rushing to work.

                    Thanks kevin-

I picked the wrong thing to study for today... but I think it's good to push yourself from time to time. The next one will be better, I'm sure of it.

                    Studies looking good!
Would love to see one of them pushed further.
New study looks interesting as well.

Thanks malo. I will push the studies further in the near future. Right now I'm trying to limit myself to 30min but I will soon start doing 2-3h studies to see what happens.

I saw a few interesting videos on Ctrl+Paint and one of them suggested as a practice to take movie stills and separate the foreground, middle-ground and background. I always felt it was an obvious thing but actually marking the different planes made me really think about what was happening there.
The stills are from the Skyfall trailer.

I also did 2 studies from the stills I took. For the studies I started with a blank canvas, I didn't use the planes I drew over the movie stills.
                      ~30min each

I will do more of this in the future. I will also try to study all the above stills.

More film studies from The Hobbit: Foreground/Middleground/Background and Colors.
Not really drawing but I'm learning a lot from these exercises. Breaking down an image makes it easier to tackle.
                        Will do studies soon.

Another study. This time I wanted to push it a little further and spend more time on it. I ended up spending more time on it but I don't feel like it was time well spent. Somehow I didn't feel comfortable with this workflow. I will get back to my quick studies and perspective practice. I might finish this one though when I get more free time.
