Thanks malo. I will push the studies further in the near future. Right now I'm trying to limit myself to 30min but I will soon start doing 2-3h studies to see what happens.
I saw a few interesting videos on Ctrl+Paint and one of them suggested as a practice to take movie stills and separate the foreground, middle-ground and background. I always felt it was an obvious thing but actually marking the different planes made me really think about what was happening there. The stills are from the Skyfall trailer. I also did 2 studies from the stills I took. For the studies I started with a blank canvas, I didn't use the planes I drew over the movie stills. ~30min each I will do more of this in the future. I will also try to study all the above stills. |
