Okay so today I've just been messing with sight size- landmarks, height width comparisons etc. After quite a few still- lifes I decided to do some research on sight-size.
Eventually I found a very good debate on CA regarding the subject, and I feel the posters, and have come to the conclusion that sight-size is worthless for drawing, but helps train the observation to a degree.
So what I'm going to do is forget about and do about 4 or 5 bargue prints as accurately as I can manage. And just draw from life, try and apply perspective concepts and just go about it naturally eyeballing and erasing, getting proportions right without worrying about this "copying" method.
Thanks for the replies. LOL.
