    Default Fetschbook

Hey guys i want to be part of the show too and decided to open up a sketchbook. This is basicly the first time i show my art on the net, besides posting in the crimson daggers thread, so i hope i can get some useful crits.

Anyways, my name is Viktor Fetsch and i live in germany. I'm completly self taught when it comes to my drawing and painting skills. I studied graphicdesign for 2 years in cologne but i quit, so here i am trying to improve my skills and support myself as a freelance illustrator.

    Now to the art part

Hey! I was wondering if you had a sketchbook... I guess now I have my answer :3
You seem to have a great knowledge of colour, and your brushwork is really awesome. There's a realistic...ness? to it that I really like, probably something about the edges, and how much the colours are blended together.
I'll be eagerly waiting for updates :3

Well... So because my opinion of people's paintings are soooo important and without it you really can't be even a decent artist, here we go. This is fantabulous and it caught my morning mist blurred vision immediately. The texture on the bushes and the trees on the foreground is really well executed.

I bet you wouldn't have had the courage to start a sketchbook here without my encouragement. Thank me very much.

azekariel: It just SEEMS that i know something about color, actualy i dont know nothing about them . Its all about the studies i think.
Placeboast: I guess i owe you my life then?

Started an environment concept yesterday, trying to work straight color on this one. I made a b/w thumbnail first and painted rough colors on an overlay layer, then started to block in colors, still not satisfied with it.

I think that you shouldn't worry so much about your lines when your studying anatomy. If you try to draw great lines you don't focus on the actual form and this makes you just copy the lines you think you see. I would presume that this is why Dave does anatomy studies traditionally. Of course this is just my opinion.
