A week of work, doesn't feel like a lot for one week. Trying to draw faces/heads. Finding babies tricky to get right. Well more work to do.

@rich4art I know right, trying to apply. Lol be ready for more loomis stuffs!

This week is hand week, mix of loomis, and drawing from imagination, and referencing my own hands.

and some gestures, some made up, some from watching girls dancing in music videos.
Feel there is still heaps I don't actually know about anatomy, everything just feels really flat.

@kevin Will apply these more when I've gotten down some really fundamental basics. Right now, its really just drawing them again and again, and getting a feel for the actual structure of various body parts.

On that note, more hand studies, and trying to figure out tones. Loomis had a really good bit about tones, trying to implement them!!
excuse my rather messy lines. Hopefully they will make more sense as I understand what I'm actually trying to suggest.

I swear I've done more work than this... lol well that's what it feels like.

            OH right...
trying to draw faces, and realising I didn't understand tones.

Went off and did a few quick face studies

and an image trying applying a few studies I've done. (lol oh hey, here is an image for you kevin!)

Been trying to get use to seeing values, and pay more attention to them. A lot of black and white, drawings. Hopefully once I understand it more, it will be easier to render the planes in my drawings more effectively.

As I've said, this week is hand weeks, I've also added some what appears to be random chicken scratches, lol those are me trying to put in midtones, and cast shadows, and trying to get my head around the forms.

Gestures of random rugby players, to get use to the forms of a male body.

Still life... wasn't much of a success, kept moving my objects. Will continue, with some more.

I did this last week... I think, can't remember

Before I could get anything down, I moved the cup...

almost moved this cup as well.... need to pick better still life objects.

So now after all that, its slowly making more sense. I don't feel like I'm just trying to copy a picture... or what I'm seeing. Guess it's just thinking in a different way when approaching a drawing.

This week is torso week, ... but it's turning out to be quite complicated, there is the shoulders, and back... and yea, this is going to be a week of extensive learning.

Still life, still trying to get my brain to think in values.

and doodling away, kinda tried out a whole bunch of stuff, noticeablely blur. And discovered a splatter dot brush.

Thanks guys! I'm going to try and keep this up. More scribbles to come.

Started drawing in pen. Don't have to worry about easer shavings! Also no "undos" Don't know if it's a good thing or not.

Managed to find some Hogarth books.

and some coloured still life studies. Still trying to think in terms of shadow mid tone and highlight.

and I have more headless torso drawings, nothing new really.

So, be prepared for a mass of pictures (cause I'm a lazy bum who didn't compile it together), mostly of gestures done in pen. I use to have this fear about drawing with pen. I think it's the fact that I couldn't rub it out. I think I'm almost over that fear now.

@kevin it seems like a lot of work! lol but at the same time, it doesn't feel like a lot of work?? I could prob draw pages upon pages of just gestures in ink, cause it is so fun

@mrbrown so.. I tried to colour organise the muscles I was drawing... didn't quite turn out as planned.

And omg now that you've pointed it out! I am now more concious about the fact ... I am drawing people with now clothes on.

                      Onwards to studies!

Still life, need to do more of these

                      and sketches of random things.

OK that was for last week.
THIS week, is arm week for me.

                      Nice update!
like the loose sketches a lot and would love to see some of them push further.
                      Cheers
