Default 3DS Max newbie - rotate problem

    Hi
I have a file I need to modify which has a number of layers and hierarchies. I can rotate some of the objects, but others will not rotate, scale or move, even though the gizmos are visible.

I have checked to make sure the objects are not frozen in Layer Manager, I have also checked to make sure they do not have parents (they don't), and have tried converting them to editable polys, just in case that was a problem, but I still can't rotate them.

    Any help appreciated

probably late reply but I typed it down so here goes.

check under hierarchy panel that the translations are not locked (you can lock each rotation, scale and move axis here)

if all else fails - create a new object (box whatever) turn to mesh and attach problem object to that.

Can you please post a screen shot of the model and viewport?
