    Question Boot Texturing Grrrrrr! Help!

    Hello,

I'm new to this forum and I would like to ask for some help.
I am working on a still life that includes a boot.
I would welcome any feedback regarding my z brush sculpt but at the moment I am struggling with my texturing. I have taken some raw images of the boot in as flat light conditions as I can get, and painted them so that they fit the uv space and match the sculpt. I have started painting out the spec and the shadows by using the clone on darken or lighten. However I can't seem to darken it enough and when I do the highlights just get softer.
I hope that kind of illustrates what I'm trying to do but I do feel a tad lost.
I would welcome any advice or techniques I should employ.
I should add that I will create spec and bump maps after this diffuse is done.

    Many Thanks.

    Ast
