Default Shake Rumor...

It's possible the the end of Shake 4.1 sales may in fact not be the end of Shake. I've felt for a while that the next version of Shake probably would be heavily tied to the release of Snow Leopard with all of it's multi-GPU/CPU efficiencies added, but obviously I don't know. I did read this on a Mac rumor site about a week and a half ago though:

"I'm currently doing research on Final Cut Studio for a technology journalist. I just had a press conference with a marketing big wig from Apple. I quizzed him on Shake and "Phenomenon". He was (not surprisingly) very guarded. But one thing he did confirm is that Apple do not consider Motion to be Shake's replacement. And I got the feeling from him something else is in development. "

There's actually a Shake petition here just in case as well:

Interesting bit of news on the Shake front. It looks like it's possible that there may be some life in that old dog yet.

“Reaching a satisfactory compromise among not only the various applications but above all between different development teams, those working on Shake and those working on Motion. Some fundamental differences of opinion about the ideal interface have hamstrung this part of the project which has now been deferred to the next version, in 2013.”

      Final Cut Nws

If they include it with Final Cut and give free upgrades to to the last set of Shake users things could get pretty interesting.

Mmhhh I really don't think that apple will release a new version of shake. Even if they do, they wouldn't live up to the success of the "old" shake. There was too much time passing by.
