I'd like to see an extension if people have work that they want to finish. I think it would be good if the finals thread is up for at least a day or two before its cut off. Just my 2 cents.

It's up to the others. I'm going to see how far I get tonight, and then call it done.

        Hey guys!

I'm going to extend this through the 16th. Post your final turnarounds here. If we get more than 3 entries by then, I'll create a finals thread for voting - otherwise we'll move onto the next round...

        good luck everyone!

This is how far I got tonight. Well, I thought I was done, but since there's an extension, maybe I'll actually get this done done.

@Didzis - looks great dude, I would pose him and do a 3/4 beauty shot of his bust, seems like you have the most detail there. And just do depth of field to blur out the body.

So if I get around to it I'll put him in a more interesting pose tomorrow before the deadline. This was a good learning experience like all comps!

Default Mucho Problemas!!! but I did get it done.

My main issues were trying to render in Maya. My mesh was a low poly with a inverted normal map on it, so I had to render in ZBrush. I have got to figure out why I'm having a hard time with my Maya>ZBrush>Maya workflow. Enough with the ranting here is my tortoise:Name: platyFront.jpg

Having issues with transpose master. In this example I moved the neck, and this weirdness is happening after taking it out of transpose. I take it doesn't support pixel information?

@RaeShouna ...Few tips to fix this

                  - When UV layout and detailing is done in Zbrush, then Create a Normal Map(Tools Menu with Tangents selected).
                  - Then further go to Texture menu and click "Flip Vertical" the Normal Map.
-Open the File in Maya and then Add any Shader and In "Bump Map" select tangent type and select the Normal Map generated!

And you are good to go!

                  OR

-Just export the file from Zbrush in MA(Maya ASCII) and you will not have to link anything!

                  Hope this helps

@Didzis...Good one but would look amazing if it's posed..Just my 2Cents
And regarding the problem try to remove any mask after the posing is done!
Do the posing at the lowest SubDiv and Hope you are working on a Clone and have a UVset!

@Aaron..Too much Fog and Blur is hampering the focus on the character! But rest is fine

                  Good Luck to All

@Zentrope: Thank you, you hit the nail on the head. I've been doing some research today when I soon realized that I needed to flip v or green. But my other issue is this: when I render in mental ray it looks like a hardware render with my Normal map on it. Name: smh01.jpeg

ETA: I figured it out, I think. My geometry is too low res. I have to delete lower subdiv's and then Goz it to Maya.

@RaeShouna...Few tricks to solve this -

                    -Soften Edge (Normals)
-And press 3 for high quality viewing and it can also be rendered in Mental Ray as it is(not in maya Software or Hardware etc)
-Don't use Goz (It's very Buggy)

Or I told you before to export as MA file and it will do this stuff automatically!
