Default Is Softimage worth mastering if you want to get into the gaming/film industry.

I recently got a hold of Softimage. It really blew my mind at the things it can do. I have a question. Is this program really worth mastering compared to Maya/Max? I played around with both and I really don't like it. The interface for both programs are very frustrating to navigate and although they are good programs, they look very difficult to approach. I was wondering if Softimage is a good alternative. I guess the bigger question is, will I get hired if I was to show great skills with this particular program?

Softimage is an amazing software and many pro's love working with it.Some only work with Softimage
The basic principles are the same when you are working in any 3d application whether it's Softimage, Maya, 3DS, Lightwave, Rhino, Cinema4d, Modo or anything!
What matters is the output and nothing else!
I have seen plenty of guys using Blender and producing some insane stuff and that software is an open Source tool.
Know your tool and increase proficiency in anything you are working with.
Advise:- Don't be a fan boy to any specific application(be flexible)!
