Your sketchbook is off to a good start man. You did a good job with the lighting on those armor studies.

And great brainstorming with figure poses! Do you also do quick observational drawings of people from life? That is important as well.

Kherns - Yea, that's why I chose those photos to study, loved the way the light kinda dances off armour.

Denizen - Thanks! Yea I do, I'll post those up next week, and in a few weeks time my life drawing classes start

          cheo36 - lol thanks

Week 2's stuff. I didn't get around to scanning/photographing any pencils this week, so I'll do that in a big bulk and post it along with next weeks batch

Going to start focussing on quality sketches, instead of quantity this week.

            Here's the sketches from week 2 -

            Pencils from week 3 -

I suck at faces/heads so I'll be posting a portrait a day from now on

            After John William Godward -

A sci-fi imagination painting, wanted to see how far I could push myself without ref! Lots to learn, yeaa
Painted this after watching the new film 'Drive.' Master cinematography, best film I've seen in a long time!

cheo36 - Wish for it the next time you blow out your birthday candles! ;D

Been super busy the past 2 weeks, not only with art, but also moving to a new apartment! Cleaning, packing, moving, buying new furniture/appliances sorting out everything - stressful, can't wait to move in fully and free up some time to focus on core skills! Because of the moving I haven't been able to do as much as I would have liked *sad face*

Instead I've mostly been researching medieval European and Japanese popular fashion for my Uni dissertation. Looking at the fashion of those times then reinterpreting it into my own character designs.

Here's the juicy fruits of my labour, and imo solid step of progress -

Just litle things to fix and you'll be good, at least proportion and shadows a bit darkened and lights a bit lightened. Good color palette and mood, stylish and clean also. The kill Bee is really funny and I love how you mix things between historical periods.

About Drive, this movie is awesome, it's been a while I hadn't seen such a good movie at the cine, also I'd loved the new planet of apes though the trailer is quite awfull !
