Thumbs up CharacterFORGE 3D :: ROUND 013 :: THE MARKSMAN

THE MARKSMAN

(Assault/Sniper/Heavy)

Alright !! So this one is gonna be all rough & tough !!
Just finished watching that Hardcore Action movie ??
or Been playing those high-end actions games lately ??
feeling inspired and all pumped up !! well here is the opportunity to actually put it into action

The objective is to design a Soldier. There are three choices for their specialization viz. Assault, Sniper & Heavy.
Artists are free to follow any kind of stylization ranging from classics to sci-fi and from hyper-realistic to completely cartoon. Don't be restricted to just Males with balloon muscles (hint). Explore the character and experiment with it to find out how you would like your soldier to be. The goal is to present your idea of a Marksman.

Have fun!

RULES AND GUIDELINES (MUST READ) :

Layout/Size: Keep all submissions to 1000-1200 pixels in height or width. Dont go too crazy on the number of WIP images - 2 pics say enough, we don't need 10 images with different matcaps each

At least two WIP images are required before posting the final piece.

Post your WIP images in this thread. Do not open a separate thread.

Submissions: Post Final Images in Finals Thread (To be posted later.)

-One Entry Per Person (the character should be new and created for this exercise)

-Beauty render, not just zbrush screen capture please

-Beauty render has to be in CLAY style only, Texturing is not required and shall not be considered for judgment .

-Follow the topic description to the best of your ability.

- Pay attention to anatomy, shape, form, and lighting. USE REFERENCE. Critical thinking is key to great character design.

DEADLINE : 15 DECEMBER 2011

I'd like to make a WW2 soldier from the exist painting. Is it OK to join? or should I develop my own concept?

can i use a blueprint for character on the internet or just references and imagination ?!! or thats just mean the character should be new in 3d and not an old work

it means it should be newly made for this challenge and not an old model that you've made earlier

gimong910 - that's fine, as long as he fits the description

Well, here is a start... Inspired by TF2 and Paul Bonner (for now ). This guy will use some serious magical fire power! And good luck to all!
