I'm pretty new here, and to 3D. Does the entire project have to be done entirely with a 3D program? Or can I get away with using a 3D base for my image and painting over it?

          MDR - an interesting interpretation

rrrobi - that's what we're here for, to learn and have fun A good start. I'd suggest going down in subdivisions and getting as much detail as you can there first - working on the big forms and then going up and smoothing things

Crazy3D - welcome... same thing, don't go into alphas and tiny wrinkles so fast. First work on your bigger shapes in lower subd levels. think of a skull underneath the skin first.. right now she feels a bit like a sagging bag of skin ... try looking at some anatomy images

          Phantom-Seraph - this is a fully 3d, modeling competition

                Hey

                First post here on CGhub!

I started sketching out an evil sea witch.

Got a few more ideas in my head so I might sketch them out as well.

@jorgepepelife: Very nice one, she might be a somewhat default witch though maybe you can add something unique to her.

@Crazy3D: Watch out with those details, try to put down a solid piece before getting into details

                Keep it up all

EDIT: Had to write at least one post before I was able to add images

Remmers - welcome A very interesting interpretation there I look forward to more. I'd loose those spikes on her shoulders - I think the one on her head is enough...

Blaxsplosion - welcome looking forward to the progress

@Intervain: Thanks! Yes that might be better, still getting carried away by dynamesh I had to cut down a lot of spikes and other needless features already.

Before working on the seawitch I'm going to try some other ideas first. Stay tuned
