@John: Thanks a lot man. Somehow I have problems with the last rendering steps. You always have to zoom in to really see everything, though they are supposed to be readable from the "normal" view.
... Maybe I am a little overcritical on myself right now because I was struggeling on this one a little more than I would have liked to. ^^°

@Parpica: Respect. I find this kind of things to be a perspectival horror. Always hate to do stuff like that.

So heres my final piece I guess. I guess there is still something that could be better, but I really dont know what.

@Vaejoun:awesome update, like it very much, good idea with the candles,i`m only a bit confused about the "sword" under the scythe,in my opinion it don`t fit very well to the rest but the hole thing is still cool^^
@parpica:really cool, first i thought you scythe was only a joke but now i`m very impressed, keep on

so here is my update, try to show how it works,
      did everybody understand it?

@parpica - hahaha ur awsome.... u crack me up!!! awsome touch the flashlight!
@vaejoun - dude that looks awsome man... i like the update a lot... how the melted wax got on the blade underneat and the magical light/fire u got on the lantern is a nice touch! very nice!
@htk - hey man good stuff... i think u should include those explanations on ur piece... it adds to the functionality of it so u get ur message across of what ur trying to illustrate. It will be cool to see an animation of the "belly" inflating!

good stuff guys.... keep it up!

Sweet butter, how am I going to keep up with you guys, ah!

Parpica - I'm sorry if I've offended you. Your design is just superb and stands out so much because of the little non-traditional aspects you've added. It's really something that will forever be in my mind.

Vaejoun - Superb rendering. What really sticks out like a sore thumb is the top blade values. It gets darker on the tip and that pushes the blade back, making the little blade seem like it's coming towards the viewer. Not sure if that is intentional, but perhaps some rim lighting will pop it back into place.

htkpeh - Great functionality! If there's a way you can incorporate this in your final, that would be great. Just becare to not make it as scattered as you do now.

All this work in here makes me want to push myself harder! I just got done with the lineart, going to go eat some lunch and then go into rendering! Let me know if it reads okay.

@stace: great update! my only concern is that it might look to weak on the blade side...specially getting to the tip.... like if by mistake i hit something hard with it...it might break?..... thats just my 2 cents
@gyork - hey dude good stuff.... would have loved to see that one finished! see ya around!

@cheo: awesome final! nothing more to say about that one

@Vaejoun: Also great final piece, I'd maybe agree with stace about the blade thingy.

@stace: You've picked my favorite design of yours, yay! very unique, can't wait to see it rendered

@Gyork: great design! I wished you'd finish it

Thank you all for the crits, every work is a small progress. I will do a last look over tomorrow and post it in the finnished thread.

@htkpeh: I imagine your design as a little gross, like organs, skin... Maybe putting some kind of gut like thing on it, or a heart? Just thinking around.

@Stace: Nice shape so far. Looks crispy.
@Gyork: I like how the snake body is attached to the tree structure.
@Cheo: Looks junky, steampunkish. I could imagine this in Bioshock or the old Fallout games. Or something really crazy. Only thing is that I am not sure what the blade actually is. Is it a solid mass with gas sprayd over it? I see some fissures in there. Then again it feels really gas or acid like.

Vaejoun, Wonderful update! glad i could help, don't be tooooo self-critical, its ok to think its cool, because it is

htkpeh, Totally understand the function and love the design and brush strokes, def you're going in a good way! i'd just propose to render it a bit further so that every part of the scythe is easily recognizable

stace, Ahh super great! we know you can do it, push it!

Gyork, Man that is impressive! Its ok to have the same function because the design look its totally different! go for it, you're not copying or will be disqualified!

cheo36, Great finish, very well done! I specially liked the fact that you showed how big the scythe is in comparison to the user!

alola, Great start! It reminds me a bit of a steam punk theme, which is super cool! I would recommend you to research for steam punk scythes or other weapons, at the moment you're scythe is a bit "empty", you could add small details/carvings through out the scythe and its blade too

You guys are incredibly awesome, always helping, I'm proud of you this is how a community should be like!

Hey buddy thanks! yah what i had in mind was....there is still a solid metal blade that comes out but it is surrounded by this energy/gas...... the physical metal blade cuts thru the body.... the energy blade thru the soul. And the little particles u see are pieces of soul that are sucked in by "the engine" into the vials and the "belly" tank. i hope that clarifies a bit. i should have explained that before ehehehhehee....

@john - thanks man! if it was not for all of u guys crits and help

@stace:cool design beside the tip,it`s to fine, but the rest is really nice^^,like it
@gyork:awesome man, good heavy look,i hope you can finish that until tomorrow
@cheo:good rendering and very good typo you used, cool piece of work
@alola:good next step,it`s more special now, maybe you should add details and in my opinion the steam pipe dosn`t work well with the rest and keep on
@Vaejoun:it`s a good idea with the gut,it should be some kind of stomach mixed with the wooden staff

so here is my final,i`m still searching for a cool name
                  crits are welcome
thanks guys for this great community

@htk - very very cool man! i really like that u showed how it works...it gives it more functionality... and the organic feel to it fits very well
the only thing that confuses me just a bit is the material of the actual blade, even thou its a different color of the rest, its kinda rendered the same way so it does look a little organic, so i dont know if it was meant for cutting or just the shape but it actually sucks in the soul instead of cutting.... i hope that makes sense anyways thats my 2 cents! other than that gj man! thanks for sharing!

edit: oh dude i had to look again.... are those ppls faces and a hand in the belly? like putting pressure on the belly from the inside? if u made it that way....thats awsome!!! lol

@cheo: that`s right, the sucked souls try to escape the stomach until they shoot out,
it would also be cool if some souls try to escape through the upper "mouth" and some hands coming out of the scythe`s top(maybe when the character stands in idle and wait)
