Hey Noro! Welcome to the sketchbook thread!

Awesome start to it too, nonetheless. The detail in your studies are great! But when it comes to your imaginative works, your rendering tends to look all the same. The cloth, the skin, the skulls, it reads as too smooth and doesn't really create any visual interest for the eye to catch onto. Do some more studies of different materials and understand how values work on each of them, and I think that will help you out.

      Otherwise, keep on painting!

doomfulstace - Thank you very much! This advice really helped me. Ypu are absolutely right. Somehow it feels like I know how to do that textures but I still cant apply it to my imaginative work. I think it just needs time and more studies
I tried to use it for the character I did today.

Go Noro! That zombie is super scary (only because I'm scared of zombies!) but super rad! And that bell pepper is HOT. I want to reach into the screen and grab it!

Neat stuff mate! Crit on the knight with mutant arm, his left arm looks a bit big considering the perspective, I think? I think value could be pushed more on the entire figure to show more definitive light source also. Keep rockin!

Noro, I've missed you! Glad you're back and back into art. Use your no internet at home to your advantage! Draw and paint with no distractions... I know I outta do the same.

One little crit about your imaginative work - watch your cropping! Cropping out arms/hands/a part of the elbow appears to be lazy and also, leads the eye right out of the composition. Be smart about your composition!

Hope to see more from you soon!

stace - hey there! Thank you very much for your words. Yes, I really enjoyed the time without internet, but still its kind of strange without it I think I don`t really understand your crit about the "cropping". I mean, I don`t understand the word in this context. Would be so nice and do a little red paint on one of my pictures so I can get it? That would be extremly nice from you.

I tried something in zbrush this time too
