Default 2D - Garry Mike David - Abomination

Hello everbody! Finally started working on DWIV!

I played around in Alchemy a lot and made a massive amount of preliminary sketches. I selected five that sparked my imagination.

I'm currently tightening them up a bit and I'll post the best three shortly.

Let me know what you think/see and fuel my fire with fresh ideas!

    Good luck all!

    Garry

        hey dude,
i second that. bottom mid looks the most interesting to me. with being asymetrical i mean.
i just discovered alchemy an hour ago. looks like a really handy sketching/thumbnailing application. i'm shure as hell going to use it.
        later dude.

          Cool.
Oh and, he also reminds me of a satyr.

            Thanks guys!

Ludwin: I love to start with silhouettes as a part of my workflow and Alchemy is very intuitive.

juffry: I'm gonna check out some images of Satyr now that you've mentioned him.

            Best of luck,

            Garry

              Hi Garry,

Top one in the middle is still my favorite Looking forward to the progress you 'll be making and seeing how the image further develops.

              See you,

                Default Ideasketches

So here are my three loosely worked up Alchemy sketches, I've narrowed my ideas down to three. Now it's time to choose one to finish up as a concept, combining all the cool elements I've discovered so far.

Any tips or suggestions are more than welcome.

                Best of luck everybody!

There are enough Dutchies active on this forum! Just check some of my contacts or go the the users section and do a advanced search with the Netherlands selected.

                    Cheers,

Oh wow! I am really digging the abomination in the middle. While he looks scary and like an abomination, he looks very much like a leader. Great job so far!

                              Default Amazing!

Wow man - i love these quick concepts...
I really like the middle one in the last post... That's got my vote!

I have a bit of a noob question tho - i'm more of a 3D guy myself and I keep hearing 2D artists talking about Alchemy... what is that? Is it a program or something? Sorry if it's a dumb question...

Keep up the awesome work though man!

royemmen: Thanks man! It's cool to have some Dutch people around!

yuhMEE: Thanks! In my first post I used Alchemy, in the second post I fleshed them out in Photoshop. Displacing is what Alchemy's all about, key is to stumble upon those happy accidents.

                                Rizztalah: Thank you!

chindian: Thanks! Alchemy is a program that I like to use get my creativity flowing. No undo's just fun! You can check and download it at al.chemy.org

Cheers all and best of luck!
