    Default Some Progress

Heyo. Wow, you guys are getting together some great stuff.

cyl1981: Thanks for the advice, it helped the balance quite a bit. Also, I love the colors in your work here. It's very subtle and lovely.

I'm very slow, plus holidays have me running around everywhere. *eheh* But here's a couple screen caps for you guys. I just have the wings left to do and I'm thinking about maybe adding color. Which, I probably will. I don't think I'll finish before the 21st, but meh I think I'm okay with that.

Pumpkinhat: I like your idea and hope you don't mind that i'm messing with it a bit. Your pose just seems super stiff and lacks weight that would naturally pull on a character... Stupid gravity.

On the first one I adjusted his balance a little. Moved his torso backward and made it a bit longer and moved his arms. Just tried to give him a little more of a relaxed look. I drew different views of him in the same stance to show you how me might look and how it's not as dynamic as it could be.

This one I was working on different poses that would be easy to manipulate out of what you already have. To me he just seems to be leaning forward while his left arm is stretched way back and his right arm is directly in front of him. I feel like his right should be a bit to his side and his left should be in a more prone state. Here are a few quick sketch ideas.

We've got him crouching a bit more. In a soldier's stance. More of a "ready" type pose. The same idea as you have. More leaning on his staff. Soon to pounce and finally him using his staff to cast a spell or a one armed jab. Just remember to think of how he would look if he were in the same pose from a different view.

Excellent. This is a great way to look at it differently :3 I think I like the far right variation the best of all.

I really like the arm moving back into the plane better as well. I have quite a lot to learn about the little things like that that make a pose more fluid. Thank you for the advice.

Played around some more, and here is a "run away bride" edition, not gonna be in the final image, but thought it would be fun to add a bit of story telling in there, where griffintaur falls in love with mortal and ..... etc.

Anyway that the latest update from me for now, take care guys ~

the idea in b6 was that a Nazgul-ized appearance might blend in perfectly in an enviroment rich in spagnum moss.

Alright, super late to the party, but saw this today and thought "even though I have like... two hours... let's give this a shot."

Mine is a Succubus/Unicorn - so that makes it a... Succorn? No, no, that's not right... Unibus? Hmm... We'll go with Succuborn for now. Any suggestions? :P

A Putto is an Amor-like small/Baby Angel. Just like the little angels in the paintings of Raphael. ;-)

                          Default Finished Faunrus

Hey hey, just wanted to share the finished image. Thank you again, Solo and cyl1981, for your extremely helpful advice. It really pushed me to do something much better and I'm glad for it.

I wish I had done something less stiff with the post, but I'm going to file that under 'better luck next time'. I'll make sure to revisit it and hopefully do some more thinking on what looks natural in a figure's pose. Maybe something action packed, who knows. For now, I'm just glad to have finished and regret that I did not quite make the deadline. Ah, thus is life.

                          Anyway, thanks everyone!
