Looking goood so far everyone. I am super late to this challenge but dammit its swamp thing and I need to do it!

Just started, about an hour into it. My idea is to take swamp thing and mix him with a little bit of pollution to add some variety/silhouette change.

this was fun! my 1st time doing a CF challenge. definitely doing it again

how about some Crits please?
I know I'm "the new guy" but I wont bite you...hard"
anyway crits will help us all improve, so don't be afraid to open your mouth and speak...err...type

*Rayph - thats looking good!

*ROCKNROLLA - good design, i think the legs are a little too big, look carefully at the hips and youll notice, keep it up!

*Mugshotpro - you have a good design there, is different, your biggest "problem" is the drawing, you should improve your drawing skills, do copies from life and some pics for anatomy, some colors are a bit off, what is he holding? and why?, i think that should be a dress from his wife, and he is looking a little too heroish, hope all this stuff helps

*Ampty - Work it a little moooaar!

*CorNeilius - Its a little too yellow, try to put some green and more flesh or flora on him. =)

*M16MB02 - the shaolin swam thing!! put more types of greens on him, look at pics of forests or swamps for reference.

*FlorieInk - ha! reminds me of big foot!, you should put some tree close to the camera with some blur, to give the idea of distance, so youll have the tree, the character and the background.

Think I didnt missed anyone, hope this helps guys!

glad you like the design...that was the primary goal with this piece. Drawing is something that I will never full master...a lifelong study really, but I do see the "problems". still experimenting with color, seeing what it can and can't do. The "dress" is a symbol of his Wife and the look he has is for the "Cinema" look talked about in the 1st posts description. I wanted to tell a story, but not so much that the viewer can still add in their own element. And as you did with the "Dress" so that makes me happy that you were able to come up with a story from the image

As for your piece:
Great values and composition.
The red eyes make it a little too "Dark" for me, but the sadness of the expression in the eyes counteract that , so it works pretty well.
the frog is a nice touch, and the Dragonfly is like a last minute surprise, as I almost didn't see it ...and then I did

simple textures, good lighting, nice color. And I must say the "hood" over the nose was the inspiration for my vine like hood

Hey all, posting the pretty much finished tonal render. Going to spend the last day on color! Ahh, running out of time!

Thanks Ste for that crit, i totally missed that.

I will jump back in and add some crits tomorrow, lots of cool designs though!
