I still need to decide which fairy tales I will illustrate, but here are my first thoughts.
Along with some silly doodle of little red riding hood in a leash, Beauty and the beast cuddling, a very clumsy Sleeping Beauty and a pregnant Rapunzel.

Finding an idea is harded than it should be... I've been reading all my fairy tales book but inspiration doesn't come...

Still Tatterhood seems like a fun tales... An ugly little girl fighting troll with a goat and a wood spoon? EPIC!

I think I'm starting to get the inspiration.

"The Wolf Leader's daughter has been stolen as a baby, by the villagers, who wanted to save her soul from her parents demonic ways. For years, the Wolf leader couldn't save her, and his wife was inconsolable.
Twenty five years later, while hunting with his wolves, he found a little girl in the wood, with hair as red as his, eyes as big as his, fangs as pointed as his, dressed in a big red hood.
She told him her mother sent her to her grandmother, with a cake and a little pot of butter, to save her from the villagers.
And she asked him to help her to become the Biggest, the Baddest Wolf of the Forest, so she could go back to the village and freed her mother."

The picture isn't the finished one, I'm still wondering if I should picture their encounter, or their life together.

Thanks, but I think this picture had already been done, on something very similar, cause I have the nagging feeling I already saw a similar picture with this theme...

While I was brainstorming and complaining to a friend about my lack of creativity about the challenge, I joked about doing a wild west red riding hood or a steampunk Cinderella. she then uttered the unholy words: Double dare you.
It sad that my creativity only wake for this sentence...
So, starting again: Steampunk Cinderella, I already have a few ideas for the full picture, ambiance and characters.

(as usual: translation, top to bottom: Pumpkin flowers, cogs, lace)

And the corset/hood concept. If she is working in the furnace, she need protection from spark.

Finally, the double dare was a good thing, I took the idea and ran with it to new horizon. I even challenged my self with perspective and girly google search (seriously, the victorian shoe are ugly as hell sometimes)

And in glass, it's no better. 'll probably go with the far right)

So far, i have three concept of pictures.
Number one: Cinderella making her own glass slippers in her attic workshop.

Number two: Cinderella rlooking at the last slipper and remembering the ball while working at the furnace, with the prince coming for the other slipper try out.

Numver 3: Cinderella fleeing the clocktower at midnight (oh lords, the perspective is going to kill meeeeeeeeee, but I'll die happy if I can manage it!!)

I will probably go for the third one, but I need to visualize the perspective better. 3D, here I come!

Love your concepts so far, I'd go with either the first or the third. First is more original, but I really like the whole staircase-perespective idea in the third one... And a steampunk-victorian staircase can only turn out to be rather awesome

The bottom one is definitely better than the first. Maybe change the framing a bit to give you more space on the upper part of the image to show more stairway.

Refining the perspective of the stair and slight change to Cindy's body cause I need to show off her glass slipper

Starting to define better the body, dress and expression of Cindy...
And realizing I need more reference for the building.
