Gyork -- looks good so far! My only comment is regarding the senses:

Hey guys, thought this was a cool challenge I might try since I normally don't do creatures.
@ Natzuurjk: I really like the insect feel of your piece and the eyes. Maybe be aware that this is an arctic specimen.....insect wings are extremely fragile in the cold. @ Sardeanie: Awesome concept...something about it reminds me of HP Lovecraft. @ Ogi-O: A great concept, I like the bulbous feeling but again be aware of the envio. This guy looks like he would probably be more at home in a swamp. @ Stimpy: That is one burbly looking creature. I love it....kinda reminds me of a mutant freeze dried chicken come back to play ball. @ cyl1981: I love the little poof ball interpretation. Kinda reminds me of Gizmo....I think it captures a kind of whimsy that fairies have- cute and fluffy but with the potential to be deadly. Rock on! ![]() ![]() For my own comments about my work process check out my blog |

looking good everyone I will give my comments later I really don{t have time now sorry.
Quick update just to share the idea, like I said is a bit of a squid, the eyes are on the body now, it stunts the pray with the crystal on its head I also want to put different kinds of heads on the right showing how not only the crystals but also the bone structure of the skull and jaw varies, it has two long tentacles with claws and a thicker one that it uses in case it wanna smash something jeje Ialso wanted to play with the low gravity thing so I put some floating glaciers on the background, still very rough I don{t have more time to work on it today. Ohh I just noticed that I have to make the two claw tentacles longer so it can reach its mouth mmmm....... ![]() Uploaded with ImageShack.us Last edited by Gyork; 05-31-2011 at 01:41 AM. Gyork, I love that new design -- remember, these guys are vertical -- so if you turn that design upright, you'd be on track!

Rethought my approach. Diamond shaped growths are along the dorsal - they're small, so they don't stand out much. I figure it flies by undulating it's sail, which should give it enough lift since the gravity is low.

the flying system actually makes more sense vertical my idea was that it could fly in any direction because of the low gravity I think it could fly and eat vertical and attack horizontal that would make more sense, the position of the mouth is the only thing that worries me
