Awesome starts both of you! A few quick comments:
@ justink - Nice angle and pose you have there! I think you could play around with that extra set of limbs there a bit more. Maybe try moving them around the body and give them more of a skeleton underneath? Glad to have you here! ![]() @ Stimpy - Looks great! I love the markings - really vibrant! I think you could play a bit more with gesture here. This might just be a study but when you go into the final think about movement a bit. Right now it seems a bit stiff. You might also think about moving those eyes around to different parts of the skull. It could help make the organism look a little "other-worldly" Great work! Here is a quick concept I sketched out today. These guys feed by crouching down on their fore limbs and pulling up plant matter with the smaller more nimble limbs up top. Although they mostly browse larger shrubs and things of the sort - plucking off the good bits to eat. The mouth is that little hole just above the brightly colored pouch. They have very flexible lips that guide food into the mouth for processing. This is just a sketch for now - probably gunna work it out a bit more. Gotta get those other limbs in there for the mating dance stuff

@ absorbentghost - Thanks!
![]() @ Alterici - Nice start! I'm partial to the second sketch - the more rhino looking version. It feels more alien to me. Although, there isn't a reason why you couldn't try and fuse the two? @ ionic - haha! Love that smile! Interesting take Excited to see where you take this and how incorporate the limbs! Great sketch! @ Lord_Glavin - Glad you're having fun! I like the attitude of your critter - very slow moving like you said. You might consider making those front limbs a bit thicker? sketching out a skeleton wouldn't hurt either Great start though! I love the fins along the body! A little more development: I'm thinking the front limbs are used for noise. Those large "thumbnails" are clacked together while the limbs up top wave around to display the red markings along the wrists. The pouch is used for display but both sexes have them. Still gotta work out the female... which reminds me... Don't forget to include a female in your final!

Cool, already some interesting, well drawn concepts going on from everyone. The most challenging part of this one is integrating all six legs in a meaningful way, so that all six serve a visible function, as opposed to looking like vestigal limbs or an undeveloped twin. Also keeping it to 50kg (110lbs) adds to the challenge. Looking forward to seeing where everyone takes their designs and how the Male / Female interaction plays out in them.
Here's some ideas I was working out, I like the bottom right one so far.

Brynn, cool design, like the inflating pouch and head design. Ionic, nice warmup, that face says it all -- funny, yet plausible.
Absorbentghost and Didzis, good to see you joining in. I worked out the female creature a bit more, and added the male . Next comes color. If anyone notices anything off, confusing or has suggestions... input is always appreciated.
