Tom_Li looking great, I guess quite a few of us went to making a female character although the world of bike gangs is pretty chauvinistic I figured the genre of cyberpunk has plenty of tough female archetypes (YT from Snow Crash, Chevette from Virtual Light, Molly from Neuromancer, etc)...

Anyway I would say that the problem with the leg on your drawing is just that the femur/ thigh is too long when at that angle it would be quite foreshortened. Nice work overall, I like the angle and look of the character...

@Tom-Li: Thanks for your compliment - and for your critique as well - obviously my idea didn�t came out that clear..i choosed different angles for the wheels because i imagined, that the handle bar is connected to the front wheel thus both having a different angle compared to the back. Just like a common bike. Hm - maybe i should paint the equally.

nice topic!I want to participate too.I started from the bike, I know it is not obligatory but it gives me a starting point.plus, it's fun. now I will begin with the character.criticisms, comments and suggestions are always welcome.(I know the mechanics of the bike are not solid ... I need more practice on that)maybe I'm drifting a bit from the look of the film, I'll try to correct that.excuse the bad English.

Tec: The smoking guy looks pretty good.

Ancapelo: Nice, The top and bottom third are the ones that I think would fit the most in the Akira world.

This is what I got so far. Still no bike, gotta work on that at some point . Need to add a few more details to this guy, but so far he's ready for the painting stage, which is one of my huge weaknesses.

akira both film and manga have done some traumatic damages to my consciousness when i was kid. it seems only right to take a stab at this! ill be back with something to show~

every saturdays some friends from digital art communities get together at our office for drawing sessions and gaming. many zombies have been slaughtered, and many hadouken have been thrown, but some creative things go down too.

3 initial ideas were; clown biker gang keepin' it real, bike as second character and where to put the camera.
from there, rest was just having fun!

i want to have another session before i call it done. so ill be back with some update to this piece

Heres a sketch; not including too much bike, not technically minded; Havent done a character for a while where I concentrate mainly on the upper half, I usually do head to toe...
