Default Anatomicae #9 - Cyborg it!

Welcome to the Anatomicae weekly activity! As you can see, there are 12 spots (12 weeks) on the banner to showcase a thumbnail for the first 12 study winners!

--------------------------------------------------------------

Cyborg it!
Explanation, what should i do now?:

All you need to do is to turn A PERSON into a CYBORG, The Human can be a draft/sketch BUT the Cyborg Drawing/Painting Version HAVE to be Done/Finished and posted.
So... Draw a human first (whatever clothing style but it has to look like its human like...) and after you're done with the Human, Cyborg it!

What the winners get?
you get... EXPOSITION, Your entry will be posted at the Official Anatomicae Gallery, you'll be on the banner at the very top of this page and on the front page of cghub (the top squares where all the other nice art come in too) and a nice shiny Badge next to your name! Arent we nice?

-------------------------------------------------------------Week #09 ::

START: February 02nd 2011 (Wednesday)

END: February 13th (Sunday) at 00:00 GMT+1 (Berlin,Wroclaw)

--------------------------------------------------------------

Help Reference:

---------------------------------------------------------------
QUESTIONS:

Q- Does it have to be a full body drawing or can it be the head - as per your Terminator bust or somewhere in between.

A-Minimum you need to show is from the Torso to the Head.

Q-Do we post both the human and the cyborg in the finals thread? Even though the human drawing doesn't have to finished? Or do we just post the cyborg drawing?

A-Post both here and the finals, after all everyone wants to see how you made the cyborg transition from the human to cyborg

Please provide as many wips and sketches you can, don't forget we're all in the same boat to learn and give critics.

Please make sure to attach your Final image with CGHUB’s attachment manager.

If there's something you can't understand just pm me or check the previous week challenge

LETS MAKE THIS SWEATY!

C'mon guys don't be shy , Just wanted to point out that the human Character doesnt have to look like a completely finished piece (more like a base sketch), what matters is that the cyborg char IS finished.

Going to start sending sketches today, hope you will too!

Lets rock this on!

    Default Questions

    Hi, a couple of questions:

    1. Does it have to be a full body drawing or can it be the head - as per your Terminator bust or somewhere in between.

    2. Do we post both the human and the cyborg in the finals thread? Even though the human drawing doesn't have to finished? Or do we just post the cyborg drawing?

    Hope these aren't dumb questions.

Really want to get in on this one.

    Cheers

Humm I might attempt a storytelling piece, both human and cyborg, rather than just character design.

Here's a sketchy sketch, just for placement and composition.

Still brainstorming, more to come! and you should do the same

I'd love to get in on this, Spent some time with gestures. Not sure which way I'm gonna go yet, male of female. I'm thinking classical human figure and maybe a "Soroyama-like" sexy robot. I've been a fan of his from way back.

      Input welcome. I'll decide soon.

I'm trying a different technique for me here. I normally want to draw in line. Here I'm trying just to block in the figure with one tone and design the silhouette and see into the figure. What I've discovered is that although my mind is seeing the figure from one perspective it can easily be flopped and fit the shape. It's an optical illusion. Kinda cool as one side may look more interesting than the initial side.

I did a 10 min light sketch for the two sides. I initially thought of the figure as facing away but I think now I like it facing towards me. I still may do a female though.

      Just thought I'd share.

I see what you mean about the optical illusion, but in reality, if you consider the foreshortening if the arm was in the back, the hand should be smaller than if it was facing towards the front. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Oh yes of course. Plenty of time to fix things as the decisions get made.

Been thinking of a different spin. Cyborgs can seem so cold and serious. How about a cyborg pin-up? Here's my "human" sketch. Gonna flush it out and put the Cyberdyne treatment to her. Whatta you think?
