Hi everybody,

That's my first contest here at cghub!
I drew this character based on justin sweet and todd lockwood's drawings.
He's a drow:
"Dark elves are known for their aggression, deceit, and stealth. They are very brutal and cruel by nature, having little mercy when it comes to cheating, battling, or anything dealing with the life of another being. They have little respect for even their own kind, at times waging war against each other. However, clans are known to band together, to combat invasions and attacks by other races. They do not mix blood with other races. They lurk in dark places and love the shadows. Rarely will they come into the light for needless purposes, but it is not usually believed light will harm or weaken them. Their weakness varies upon legend, and may include excessive heat, rain, nettles, or the blossoms of some plants and trees. Dark elves generally travel in pairs or groups, as their tendencies towards cheating and theft make them targets for retaliation and violence at the hands of other races."

The concept was completely done with photoshop cs3.
Hope you like it and I hope to be able to finish this piece until the deadline as well!! hehe

Blaze- Hey man, so long no talk! Actually I'm trying out this 2011 version and it has been great so far.

Hello again guys,

We're almost at the end of the contest but finally i had some time to post an update here.
I'm not sure if i'll can finish this untill the deadline but I'll do as much as possible! It's been really hard to do it because of my full time work.
Now, some images of the work in progress, hope you enjoy it!

The face is very similar to the concept, great (and congrats for the concept art, it looks very good).
Even if you don't finish in time for the competition, it will be an awesome work. Do you plan to sculpt the fur in Mudbox or create it on another app?

lbelerique- Thanks man. About the fur, I tried an version from 3dsmax but my computer didn't help me with that. I'm trying an sculpting version now.

oglu- thanks. actually i've done a quicker version to use for the contest.

I'd like to work much more on this character but unfortunately there's no more time :/ So I hope you enjoy my final entry

Wow, I was surprised by the speed you had working on this!
The model looks very, very good, I love the expression and the swords
