Hello, I like whats going on here especially the colors and weapons. The details need to be cleaner, right now everything is looking kinda muddy. What texture sizes are you using? I'm sure you will finish though I can't wait to see the final image

Hello Loraine_Howard_3, thanks for the comment

Yeah, the texture of the dragon looks crappy, I know, tomorrow I'll have to finish sculpting the details and then improve the textures. One thing that I need to tweak is the lighting of the scene.

The texture size I'm using are 2048x2048 pixels for the dragon, the warrior armor and the weapons.

I'm continuing to improve the dragon sculpt, by adding plaques on its abdomen and tightening up some details on the head crest and wings. Really don't know what I should do for the texture, because it lacks...

            After some more sculpting and texturing on the dragon, I proceeded to create a moody lighting and looking for a cool shot (models are on low detail levels, to speed up Mudbox's interface);

Here are two more shots; which would you choose for a final render?

I like the first one man, but if you choose that one I would tighten the details. I think you can get away with it in the second one though like it is.

I like the first one if you don't hide the warrior's face and see if you can rotate the dragon's head the opposite angle. For the texture variation, try adding some overlayed/multiplied spots and color variations on a low percentage.

                  Really coming along man!

Hello guys, thanks for your comments!

Loraine_Howard_3: Thanks for the comment. Yeah, I see that the sculpt could be waaaay better, got carried away in painting, and I made a big scene, instead of focusing on one warrior, which I feel now that I should have done from the start. Even so, I tried to improve some details, but it's too late for much improvements.

sandpiper: Thanks man, I've followed your suggesttions

tipock: Thanks for the image! Your advice on the orientation of the spear is good, because it was a little confusing before.

Today was a weird day, yesterday I felt really burned out so I haven't done much until the evening. But! I have my entry finished!! With mixed feelings; I like the general look and mood of the piece (I made it thinking of a diorama), but I've seen so much great sculpts that I feel that I should have taken a different path.

Well, this was a great opportunity to try out the new Mudbox, meet some great artists and push myself to make another piece for my folio. And the works and workflow I've seen in other entries will definitely leave a lasting impression on me!

I want to thank my girlfriend, which was real supportive, especially on these last few days

And of course, I want to thank you all for watching, commenting and helping me to push farther and farther

                      Now, the images:

Congrats, you did it and it loocks cool!

Compared to mine you have a dragon in your scene, a big respect at this point.

                            Good luck, man.

AdamFisher: Thanks! Still can't believe I finished it, a first time for me on a big contest like this
Now I'm thinking of Dominance War...

brettSinclair: Thanks! Coming from you it's a great compliment to see that you liked the concept behind this piece

fantasymaster: Thanks! Your dragon slayer rocks big time, maybe we should have paired up, I would have made the dragon.
And the cleaniness of your warrior has inspired to try and make something in that style, I miss sculpting anatomical features

                                Hey there.

Late yesterday I found out about a small time extension due to confusion about the deadline, so I tweaked a little the beauty shot and snuck it on my finals thread:

                                Good luck everyone!

                                Cheers
